SUMMARY:Head for the Hills 10K & Coyote Crawl 5K
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for our 2025 Coyote Crawl 5K and Head for the Hills 10K! Enjoy a walk or run through Missouri’s first Level III Arboretum (and one of only 52 in the world!) while surrounded by incredible fall foliage. The rolling hills of Bellefontaine’s 314 acres will allow a greater appreciation of the 87\,000 lives commemorated on the grounds of the oldest Garden Cemetery west of the Mississippi. \nFounded in 1849\, Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum has been the final resting place for many of St. Louis’s notable figures\, including Priscila Baltimore\, General William Clark\, Sarah Teasdale\, and Adolphus Busch. You will find world-renowned architecture such as the Wainwright Mausoleum\, our historic Hotchkiss Chapel\, and the “Girl in the Glass Box” nestled among our 14 miles of roadway. A diverse collection of close to 10\,000 trees and shrub varieties dot the landscape\, making this a peaceful run/walk through history and nature.

SUMMARY:The Skippo Trail Race
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Skippo returns to Castlewood State Park on November 1st & 2nd \, 2025. The Skippo began in 2009 as a 20k trail race in beautiful Castlewood State Park that featured two 10k loops on a fairly flat course except\, of course\, for the famous stairs! The race was named after local trail running legend Skip “Skippo” MacDowell who has dedicated countless volunteer hours maintaining the trails at Castlewood State Park. It was at Skip’s urging\, wanting to involve as many runners as possible both beginner and seasoned\, that we added two more options\, the 10k and the 30k and make a weekend of the event with events both Saturday and Sunday. The Skippo now offers something for everyone and we hope you can join us in November!

SUMMARY:Cohick Half Marathon & Conservation Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Maynard Cohick Half-Marathon is perfect for seasoned and beginner half-marathoners. Participants in the half-marathon start at the same time (7:00 AM) as marathon and marathon-relay runners/walkers. Half-marathoners and marathoners will run together for the first 10.3 miles. \nThis course is excellent! Along with the beautiful autumn foliage of the Ozarks\, runners can expect some rolling hills from miles two through five. However\, the course is mostly flat and provides a great opportunity for those who are seeking a personal record. \nThe route takes runners in front of Mother’s Brewing Company on Grant Avenue\, just before mile five. Runners have been known to spend some time here\, enjoying the specialty beverages being poured by volunteers from Mother’s! Half Marathoner’s will run on a small section of Route 66\, through part of downtown Springfield\, in Phelps Grove Park and around the back of the Bass Pro Shops store. Racers finish off of Sunshine Street\, in front of both the Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Acquarium and the John A. and Genny Morris Conservation Center.

SUMMARY:Downtown Microadventure
DESCRIPTION:Don’t let the name fool you; there’s nothing small about this 45 minute adventure through the heart of Downtown St. Louis! We’ll meet on the riverfront levee and shuttle less than a mile to our put-in on Laclede’s Landing. We’ll push off near the historic Eads Bridge\, the oldest bridge on the Mississippi and begin with a short paddle upstream (just like Lewis & Clark)\, learning about some notable historic landmarks and catching unparalleled views of some of St. Louis’s oldest riverfront buildings. We’ll then turn our canoe downstream\, paddle under the Eads Bridge and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Gateway Arch and downtown’s skyscrapers. The trip will end just south of the Arch\, where we’ll enjoy snacks and refreshments on the historic cobblestone levee! \nRemember\, no paddling experience or special equipment is necessary\, we’ve got you covered! Our expert guides will provide you with everything you need for the adventure and help you board one of our extraordinary voyageur canoes.

SUMMARY:Off Road Rage Adventure Race
DESCRIPTION:ARE YOU READY FOR A NEW CHALLENGE???? \n  \nThere will be navigation\, trekking (running or hiking)\, mountain biking. The EXTREME and SHORT Courses will require flatwater\, or slow moving river paddling. (canoes\, pfds\, paddles provided!!) There may\, OR MAY NOT\, be surprise challenges for ALL courses. The team that completes all the checkpoints (or more than other teams) with the fastest time will win the race. \nThere will be several checkpoints that are mandatory (transition areas)\, but most are not. \nA team could choose to skip checkpoints and shorten the course and still have an official finish\, though probably not place in the top 10. You will have access to the gear\, food and drink that you have on your bike or in your pack. The maps are pre-plotted topographic maps from mytopo.com. Your team will need a basic understanding of terrain features and distance measure. There will be very few rules of travel\, teams will choose their own route/strategy (with mode of travel specified for checkpoints).

SUMMARY:Dogwood Canyon Trail Runs
DESCRIPTION:Set within the Dogwood Canyon Nature Park\, these trail runs offer a unique running experience. Dogwood Canyon is a natural paradise with over 10\,000 acres\, providing a fantastic variety of trails for our 50K/25K/15K trail runs. Located close to Lampe\, Missouri\, the trails take runners through both Missouri and Arkansas. Expect a challenging and rewarding course with rocks\, hills\, mud\, streams and more. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and clothing as the race takes place rain or shine and the temperatures can range from the 20s to the 70s. \nEach trail run is unique\, but all runs share some of the same territory. The 15K has two aid stations while the 25K and 50K have 4 to 8 aid stations. Generally not technical\, the courses are hilly and somewhat rocky\, providing our runners with a physically challenging and satisfying experience. Much of our course is only open to our runners\, making the participants of this world-class event amongst the special few who are granted access to these majestic and hidden areas of the canyon. After their first trail run with us\, most participants make our Bass Pro Shops Fitness Series Dogwood Canyon Trail Runs an annual event. We love our runners!

SUMMARY:Bubba Memorial Cyclocross Series - Race #7
DESCRIPTION:Big Shark “Veteran Racer” Butthead (aka- Josh Johnson)- a previous season’s A Race winner received a dog a long\, long time ago named “Bubba.” Butthead thought Bubba was a puppy\, which it/he was definitely not. Actually\, many people at first mistook Bubba for some sort of Hog\, (perhaps a razorback?)\, but that is a different issue entirely. Although we enjoyed Bubba we did not think Bubba was going to live past another cross season. We really didn’t. He was NOT a puppy. So this series is dedicated\, again\, to Bubba. Sadly\, Bubba passed away many summers ago- despite being commemorated for the past decade. We miss him Bubba\, although in truth he really had exceeded all of our expectations by remaining somewhat alive for as long as he did. He was adorable\, albeit weird.
